Wine Azienda Agricola Santa Maria, “1885” Chianti Classico DOCG, 2017

“1885” Chianti Classico is an exquisite dry red wine made from the Sangiovese variety grown in Tuscany, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Bererdenga. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 350 meters above sea level on loamy soils interspersed with marl. 20% of the harvested grapes are not crushed and are not separated from the ridges. The rest of the vinification is carried out in the traditional way. Maceration in contact with the skin lasts 15-35 days. The wine is aged for at least 12 months, partly in barriques, partly in large oak barrels (tonneaux), and partly in stainless steel containers. The wine is then bottled and matured for another 6 months.
