Ca ‘Marcanda, “Vistamare”, 2012 – the first white wine farm Ca’ Markandeya. “Vistamare” means “sea view”. Playful and carefree wine name is inspired by the cheerful sun, gentle sea breeze and the serenity of the Tuscan coast. Vistamare vineyards are located in the picturesque corners of Castagneto Carducci and the Upper Maremma, offering wonderful views of the sea. First vintage “Vistamar” was released Angelo Gaja in 2009. Blend this delicious, refreshing wine is composed of several grape varieties – Vermentino, Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. In the production of each variety is fermented separately. After assembling the wine some time aged in oak barrels and then bottled.
Brand Gaja was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaia, the great-grandfather of the current owner Angelo Gaja, and for 5 generations, is owned by the family Gaia. To date, Gaja Winery owns vineyards with a total area of 250 hectares, located in the province of Tuscany and Piedmont. Angelo Gaja began its work in the family business in 1961, after completing their education in oenological Institute of Alba and the University of Montpellier (he later received a degree in economics from the University of Turin).
