Wine “Casasole”, Orvieto Classico DOC, 2022

“Casasole” created Antinori winery for more than half a century, since 1932. Previously, the wine was called simply “Orvieto Classico Amabile”, but since 1998 it has received its own name – “Casasole”, the title farms on the estate of Castello della Sala. “Casasole” is made of a whole bunch of white grapes grown in Orvieto. Vintage “Kazasole” until 2009 took place at the Castello della Sala, and since 2010 the wine produced in another economy Antinori – Santa Cristina, also located in Umbria.

2014 was characterized by favorable weather conditions that contributed to the gradual maturation of the crop. Grape harvest began in the second half of September, which is 15 days later than usual. Berries were healthy, fresh, with sufficient acidity, aroma and great expressive varietal characteristics. The grapes for “Kazasole” sorted, separated from the ridges and very gently pressed, and then cooled to 10 C. The resulting chilled juice is placed in a stainless steel tank, wherein at a temperature not exceeding 18 C is in the process of fermentation. When a certain amount of residual sugar fermentation stops abruptly by the sudden drop in temperature to 0 C. Wine filtered residual sugar and stored at a low temperature steel vats before bottling.

Most Antinori wines are not inferior in its properties to the best examples of Bordeaux, although it compares favorably to the past for its value. The world-renowned wine expert Robert Parker said that “Antinori, no doubt, the greatest name in Italian winemaking. During the Antinori wine tasting takes place the main thing – instilled understanding of quality wines.”
