The wine is named after the prominent French architect Louis Michel Thibault. In the last quarter of XVIII-first half of XIX century by Louis Michel Thibault in Cape Town was built several buildings, including the building of the first house Customs and family Kopmanov De councils on Strand Street. Architectural composition of these buildings were used descendants De Wet to give a special flavor family winery. Wine “Louis Michel Thibault,” 2010 is made from Merlot grapes with the addition of a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are harvested at two specific areas of the winery De Wetshof – “Block 8” (Merlot) and “Block 11” (Cabernet Sauvignon). The average age of the vines – 14-15 years. Berries are harvested early in the morning to keep their special freshness and purity of flavor along with soft and juicy tannins. Each variety vinified and aged separately. Malolactic fermentation and aging for 18 months, the wine takes place in French oak barrels. Then the wine is blended and bottled.
