Wine Domaine Naturaliste, “Artus” Chardonnay, 2020

“Artus” Chardonnay – provocative, complex and textural wine exuding the seductive spirit of Chardonnay “old world”. This is an artistic translation of a local Chardonnay clone called Gin Gin into wine. The vines of this clone grow in the cool southern part of Margaret River under conditions of moderate sunlight, which contributes to the development of flavors, low tannins and bright levels of natural acidity. The 2020 season has become one of the best for white wines. The long and gentle season allowed the development of a high level of aromatics, while retaining the original natural acidity and elegance. The tiny 100-gram clusters of Jin Jin are hand-harvested in the first light of the morning to keep the fruit fresh. The fruits are pressed in whole bunches, the must is fermented with natural yeast cultures and subjected to malolactic fermentation. Then the wine is aged for 10 months on the lees in French oak barriques (40% new). “Artus” is attractive already in youth, but can be perfectly stored for 8-10 years.
