Mount Mary Vineyard, Chardonnay, 2017 – appetizing, juicy, fresh, intense, electrifying wine from Chardonnay grapes, which remains the best white grape variety in the Yarra Valley. We believe that in seasons such as 2017, it can compete with some of the best Chardonnay in the world, Mount Mary winemakers say. Several Chardonnay clones have been used to make the wine, including two of the newest 10-year-old vines, adding an extra level of clonal diversity. Harvested by hand and destemmed. The wort obtained after pressing is fermented with specially selected yeasts. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels (25-30% new) from various coopers for 11 months. A very promising 2017 vintage will live on for decades.
