Wine “Ocra”, Bolgheri DOC, 2021

“Ocra”, 2012 – a unique, elegant Tuscan red wine. Wine “Ocra”, which is also called “the blood of the earth”, created from grapes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vine is grown in the region of Bolgheri, in an area with a unique microclimate. Harvested by hand. For vinification is used only modern equipment, which allows you to create a perfect dry wine with very soft tannins. Wine for a year aged in oak barrels and then another 6 months – in bottles. Wine storage capacity is 10-12 years.

Possession Cusona, which are owned by Guichchardini Strozzi, located on the banks of the river Elsa and are on the way from Paris to Rome. The first mention of the estate Couzon in historical sources date back to the year 994, as a farm family Bibbiano.

Back in the early decades of the XV century in the economy Couzon Bardi family, who owned the estate at the time, already engaged in the cultivation of vines by making wine from grapes Vernaccia. A century Zhirolamo Guichchardini being graph married a girl from a family of Bardi. Thanks to a happy marriage, it has at its disposal possession Couzon that since forever belong to the family Guichchardini for centuries to care for their vineyards, which brought her worldwide fame.

A significant contribution was made by Francesco Guchchardini (Minister of Agriculture), in charge of the estate for three years starting in 1906. Often the stories of families Strozzi and Guichchardini rightly associated with the Renaissance.
