“Il Sasso”, Carmignano DOCG, 2022 is a charming red wine born in the homonymous vineyard, which is located in one of the most intriguing and attractive areas of the Santa Cristina a Mezzana appellation. Piaggia sought to enhance the characteristics of this site, which was already an excellent area for the production of high-quality grapes.
Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes are vinified in tanks using indigenous yeasts. Maceration on the skins takes place for 18-20 days. The resulting wine is aged in French oak barriques for at least 15 months, and then 6 months in the bottle.
