San Polino, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG, 2012 is a bright and powerful red wine, reflecting a warm and sunny year with an early harvest. The summer of 2012 was particularly hot and dry, which made the vines more vigorous. The grapes ripened evenly, although quite quickly. Cool nights at the end of summer ensured the quality of polyphenols and acidity. The grapes were harvested from southern slopes at an altitude of 450 m, where sandy-volcanic soils with marl give the wine a mineral complexity. Fermentation took place in oak vats with autochthonous yeast. Aging was carried out in 2 stages: 6 months in new French barriques, then 4 years in large barrels of Slavonian oak. Edition – only 4800 bottles. In a Brunello di Montalcino orchestra, Riserva would be a cello, deep, resonant and powerful. This wine is produced only in the best years.
