Wine Spier, “Lift” Pinotage-Shiraz, 2020

Light and aromatic wine Spier, “Lift” Pinotage-Shiraz created from Pinotage and Shiraz grapes harvested in the areas of Brideclf and Slanhuk. The age of the vines is 12-17 years. Harvested by hand only after the berries have reached the optimum level of maturity. At the winery, grapes are sorted, destabilized and gently pressed. Cold maceration is carried out at a temperature of 10-12 C. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at high temperature for several weeks. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine Shpir, “Elevator” Pinotage-Shiraz is aged in stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine is assembled by choosing particularly successful samples.

The history of the Shpir wine house, located about 50 kilometers from Cape Town, dates back to 1692, when the burghers moved here to create their own wine farms. The whole complex of farm buildings has cultural and historical value – the architectural style of the buildings, known as Cape Dutch, combines elements of medieval European architecture. All this time, the winery did not stop its work, based on the principle of environmental management.

Spier ‘s wines have recently received a large number of awards: for example, Cabanet Sauvignon 2006-2009 Savanha Naledi vintages were awarded various awards, and the 2009 vintage received a gold medal at the 2011 Mundus Vini competition in Germany. Several Speer wines have also been named “Best Buy” in the Wine Enthusiast ranking. In 2011, the Shpir wine house was also awarded the title of “Best Foreign Producer of the Year” at the “Mundus Vini” competition and “Most Successful Producer” at the “Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show”, and the company was in the competition “International Wine and Spirits Competition” Awarded five gold medals and the status of “Best in Class”.
